All the building are dating back to the middle age.

We can choose to skip Viterbo to visit Orvieto or to visit Tarquinia:
Even is possible to spend a day on the Ciociaria, another beautiful medioeval area.

Viterbo

Viterbo was an important Etrusian centre before falling to the romans. In the 13th century became the papal seat.During world war two was devastated but the city and many
towers, the walls and the curches have been restored very good.
So, Viterbo is a medioeval town and is preserved at the best.Arches, towers, external staircases, narrow street running between little piazzas and fountains.Walking in to the narrow street,is like to walk in the past.
The palazzo papale (13th century) with a beautiful carved loggia, was built for popes on their visit to the city. The palace is still there to
be visited and is very emotional to stay in the loggia.
San Pellegrino quarter, is the most enjoyable
and the perfect example how is preserved the
ancient city.People still living in the ancient houses and they take care a lot about it with
a lot of pride.Take a look inside the houses's gate is like to take a look in the middle ages.

Santa Maria Maggiore church is a tipically romanesque asymmetric facade with arches
and bold rose window. You can see sculptures by abstract motifis style.Inside
the church is one rarely full immersion baptism font, mean that the church was very important.

Ciociaria

The area of Anagni, Alatri, Sermoneta, Segni is know as "Ciociaria" from "ciocie"
the bark clogs worn in the area until about 30 yrs ago. Before of the romans the area was inhabited by different tribes:Volsci, Hernici.Lots of top towns hill have ancient walls believied to have been built by the Cyclops, a mytical giant which gave them their present name of Cyclopean walls.

In the same area is Sermoneta.
Sermoneta is a town on a very tall hill with
beautiful circle walls.
Like in many city town, the city had a very
important family owned the city.
The family was living in the centre of the
town in a small castle.
.
The castle have been restored very good
and are still visible many different rooms
with original furniture like the kitchen, the livingroom and the bedroom of the lord of the town.
you can walking dsicovering narrow street and old houses.
All the buildings are dating back to the middle ages and the people are sill living
in them.
Like look very strange and emotional to walk almost alone in this town because the time is stopped in the dark ages.
